2015 short shots

Welcome to "SHORT SHOTS". Here are some of the happenings from around the club.

  1. Registration for the Ladies “Give Golf a Go” lessons is the 11th of October at 4pm. Please contact Jenny Schaeffer for further information.

  2. The AGM is set down for Thursday October 15th at 6.00pm.

  3. The board is continuing discussions with the City to progress the Clubhouse. Since the announcement that the funding for the community facility is not forthcoming from the State, the board has held a number of meetings with the City.

  4. Course toilets are now in operation. Yes these are chemical toilets, with specific use instructions, please follow the signage. Also please refrain from disposing of rubbish down the long drop.

  5. The Goldfields Golf Club was recognised as the National MyGolf centre of the Month for August. This is the second time the junior program has won this award. http://www.mygolf.org.au/news-display/87452

  7. On Sunday the 6th of September 30 Sub-Juniors took part in the Sub-Junior Championships, a further 30 family and friends enjoyed a BBQ lunch and presentations. Congratulations to Mitchell Gane (A Grade), Maxx Prosser (B Grade) and Ella Harris (C Grade).

  8. Sunday the 13th of September is a Shotgun (Par) Start, BBQ & Band. Nominations close this Wednesday.

  9. Nominations for the Ladies Open and the Smarter than Smoking – Goldfields Junior Desert Open are now open.

  10. On Monday the 28th of September the second leg of the 2015 RPGC V’s GGC Junior Challenge will be staged at the Kalgoorlie Golf Course. RPGC currently leads after the completion of the first leg, 6.5 to 5.5 points. The second leg consists of 9 holes of singles, 9 holes of foursome and 9 holes of better ball.

  11. The GGC will be having a Charity Golf Day on Saturday, 19th September. All proceeds for the day (match fees and fines) will be donated to the Regional Cancer Care Centre at Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital. Please book in as normal. Theme: Purple.

  12. Harlsan Trophy was played on the 15th & 16th of August over 36 holes of Stableford.; Aaron Gough (80 points) won the day with Brett Honey second shooting a personal best 74 off the stick in the second round (74 points) and Brendan Reeves third (69 points).

  13. The new Matchplay Challenge was held on the 5th of September, the match was all square 15.5 points each and some quick thinking by the Match Committee resulted in Team Wilmot defeating Team Law 47 holes to 41 holes. The format was well received and enjoyed by those who played.
