2015 short shots

Welcome to "SHORT SHOTS". Here are some of the happenings from around the club

  2. Registration for the Ladies “Give Golf a Go” lessons is the 11th of October at 4pm. Please contact Jenny Schaeffer for further information; This email address is being protected from spambots.   3. Save the date; Presentation Night is Friday the 20th of November, tickets on sale soon. 

  4. Concept Plans of a version of the permanent Clubhouse are on display in the Captain’s Foyer, the club prepared these plans to generate discussion with the City.

  5. The Goldfields WA PGA Championship with be held from the 26th of October until the 1st of November, volunteers, push buggies and billets are required.   6. Congratulations to Connor Fewkes who beat Kynan Holt on the first playoff hole of the 2015 Smarter than Smoking Goldfields Junior Desert Open. Both players tied on 151 for the 36 hole event. Congratulations also to Sam Pratt for being the overall nett winner.

  7. 93 players took part in the 2 day 2015 Smarter than Smoking Goldfields Junior Desert Open; 31 players in the MyGolf division and 62 in the Open. This is the largest field in the 4 year history of the event with 65 players travelling from out of town and 21 WA clubs represented.

  8. Sunday the 13th of September is a Shotgun Start, BBQ & Band was held. The turnout was very poor, constructive feedback is welcome, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

  9. On Monday the 28th of September the second leg of the 2015 RPGC V’s GGC Junior Challenge was staged at the Kalgoorlie Golf Course. The GGC defeated RPGC 17 points to 11. Both Joshua Fewkes and Sam Pratt went through the day undefeated.

  10. The inaugural GGC Charity Golf Day held on Saturday the 19th September, raised $4,033.00 for the Regional Cancer Care Centre at Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital. Thank you to all sponsors and players who took part in the day.

  11. On October 24th & 25th the Club hosts the last Championships for the 2015 season. The Foursome Championships will be played over 2 days. Please book in as per normal.

  12. On November the 14th opening day for the summer season will be a Par 3 competition; nominations are essential for the 7.30am shotgun start and close on Wednesday the 11th of November. Golf will be followed by a BBQ lunch, Golf and BBQ is $25 per person and $20 for family and friends. Ian Slater of Ian Slater Roofing has organised a prize for each hole, ensuring a fun and exciting event.

  13. The AFL 100 Club has now concluded for the year. Nathan Fishburn won the Grand Final $840. Thank you to all players who took part in 2015.

  14. Cook your Own BBQ’s are scheduled for Friday Night the 13th of November (Spooky), 4th and 18th of December.
